This is a VERY popular combination. The 10" Cole jaws are usually the first optional jaws woodturners add to their Nova chucks, and here you can purchase the chuck kit AND 10" Cole jaws together in one package. The picture shows the cole jaws both plain and with a bowl mounted on top (kit includes only 1 set of cole jaws...2nd set shown is for illustrative purposes). The kit also includes the woodworm screw, which allows you to mount most woods directly to the chuck to start a bowl, the 2" jaws to do the standard bowl mounting for making the bowl itself, and then the Cole Jaws to mount the bowl face down to finish the bottom. Separate adapter insert IS required with this kit to fit the chuck to your lathe.

Adapts any Nova chuck to a 1" - 8 TPI spindle
The insert/adaptor versions of NOVA chucks all use the same insert/adaptor system

Teknatool uses an easy and inexpensive insert/adaptor system on all its Nova chucks (apart from the Compac). The insert has different lathe spindle thread sizes internally and simply screws into the back of your Nova chucks. Once the insert is in place, you can then put your chuck onto your lathe and lock it onto the spindle of the headstock with the supplied socket head screw for use while reverse turning.

Experience the significant advantages over conventional scrapers. Shear scraping is a recently enhanced method of woodturning which relies on the presentation of the scraper at a shear angle. The technique offers some significant advantages over conventional scrapers.

The 3/8" square shank sits firmly on the tool rest and presents the cutter at a 45 angle to the workpiece when used in either direction. This is due to the unique cutter seating position. The tip can be re-positioned several times before re-sharpeining becomes necessary.

- At the optimum angle of 45, the slicing action is safer and produces a superior finish.
- Sanding is seldom necessary.
- The risk of the cutter digging-in is virtually eliminated.
